ALIA VOUCHER SCHEME FOR INTERLIBRARY LENDING

The Board of ALIA has determined that as a result of this, the low usage rates of the ALIA Voucher scheme and the proliferation of alternative trading systems over the years that ALIA will cease providing a voucher trading system.

The cessation of the voucher system will be phased in between now and June 30, 2012.
· ALIA will stop issuing new vouchers from 1 Dec 2011 · ALIA will allow existing voucher holders to redeem vouchers until 30 June 2012.

Redeeming institutions will continue to be required to be ALIA Institutional or Voucher Only members as they are currently. Instructions for redeeming vouchers can be found at: http://www.alia.org.au/interlibrary.lending/vouchers.html

NSW SWIFT LIBRARIES
ILL CHARGES
From the 1 July 2011 Ashfield, Botany Bay, Kogarah, Marrickville and Strathfield libraries are charging all NSW public libraries $6.00 for inter-library loans
(and all other libraries $15.00).

Note: Burwood library is not charging
libraries the $6.00 fee.

The subject specialisation allocation scheme has long ago been disbanded. Most libraries may not collect new materials in their previously allocated area. However in terms of searching and finding resources for inter-library loans it would be helpful to have a quick list of those libraries that collect special collections or still continue housing or collecting subject specialisation collections.

AUSTRALIAN INTERLIBRARY LENDING RESOURCE SHARING CODE
replaces the code adopted by the library sector in 2006.

INCREASE TO INTER-LIBRARY LOAN CHARGES BY THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF AUSTRALIA
Following recent budget decisions, the National Library has reviewed its interlibrary loan and document delivery charges, which have not increased since the introduction of GST in 2000.
The National Library advises clients that its standard interlibrary loan and document delivery charges will increase from $13.20 to $16.50 from 1 July 2011. For further information about the new charges, please go to the Document Supply Service web site http://www.nla.gov.au/dss/charges.html
